Details

This unique pottery process is made by hand molding a clay form into an urn style. Each urn is carefully spun on a potter’s wheel or molded into a specific shape, hand-glazed and then baked at a high temperature in a kiln. This baking process is to remove all the water from the clay and “set” the clay to increase its strength. Each urn is individually hand-crafted to create a unique piece of art. Slight variations are common in this detailed craft.

Sizing Guide

Generally, 1 Pound of
person/pet equals approx. 1 cubic inch of remains. For example, a 200 pound
person would need a 200 cubic inch urn or larger. However, if you have a
certain size urn, most funeral homes can make certain adjustments to
accommodate that size urn, within reason.
